Its taken me a while to complete this one and if I’m honest I have struggled with it. I’m not sure if it was the pose, the lighting or the hair which threw me on this but I persevered and finished it.
It brings to mind a recent hashtag I saw #finishednotperfect which struck a chord with me, as I am sure it did with other artists. Everything we create is never perfect and its ok to stop sometimes and say this is done, its not perfect but I am happy with it.
Sometimes you can work on a piece and everything clicks but with others you push yourself, which can have a detrimental effect on the artwork and also suck the enjoyment out of the process.
I see it this way. Each piece is a learning experience and the time spent is never wasted. Even if its a struggle you will discover new techniques to overcome problems and also find that certain pieces just don’t work with your style.
